DeepMind Postgraduate Scholarship 2024: The University of Birmingham is excited to announce the availability of two scholarships generously funded by DeepMind. These scholarships are open to applicants who currently hold either a conditional or unconditional offer for the MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

The University of Birmingham, with support from DeepMind, is committed to increasing accessibility and enhancing diversity among underrepresented groups in computer science.

These scholarships will enable talented students to take the next step towards achieving their career ambitions in some of the most innovative and sought-after areas of industry and research.

 Eligibility Criteria


Applicants wishing to apply for the University of Birmingham DeepMind Postgraduate Scholarship 2024 should meet the following criteria:

- Identify as female.
- Be able to demonstrate (if required) that they would not be able to take up the offer of admission without financial assistance.
- Have already received a conditional or unconditional offer to study the MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the University of Birmingham.
- Be ordinarily resident in the UK and classified as UK for fee-paying purposes, OR be classified as an international student for fee-paying purposes.

Scholarship Benefits

We currently have two scholarships available: one for UK students and one for international students.

UK Scholarship: Valued at £34,225

The scholarship covers:

  • UK tuition fees: £11,340
  • Maintenance grant: £18,985 (for living costs), paid in instalments over the duration of the course
  • Funding of up to £2,200 to attend an international conference in the field of AI and/or Machine Learning during the course
  • £1,700 towards the purchase of essential equipment (such as a suitable laptop)

International Scholarship: Valued at £56,525

The scholarship covers:

  • International tuition fees: £31,410
  • Maintenance grant: £19,345 (for living costs), paid in instalments over the duration of the course
  • Funding of up to £2,200 to attend an international conference in the field of AI and/or Machine Learning during the course
  • £1,700 towards the purchase of essential equipment (such as a suitable laptop)
  • £1,870 to assist with relocation expenses

How to Apply for University of Birmingham DeepMind Postgraduate Scholarship 2024


Interested applicants need to first apply for a conditional or unconditional offer of admission before applying for the scholarship. Applications are now being accepted through the online form. Please only apply once you have received a conditional or unconditional offer, as you will not be considered until you hold one.

The final scholarship application deadline is Sunday, 21st July 2024.
